We're growing because our children demand it.

Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies have been working to make this region a better place since 1960. Kids in our program stay out of gangs. They do better in school. They grow up to be contributing members of our community.

Our vision is to provide a caring adult mentor to every child in need across 8 counties in Indiana and Henderson County in Kentucky.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ohio Valley grew in 2000, by taking on Perry County, Indiana and in 2003 by taking on Knox County in Indiana. In 2010 we received increased interested from Posey, Gibson, Perry and Spencer Counties in Indiana and Henderson County in Kentucky to expand our programs. To facilitate this growth local community leaders from these counties have formed advisory councils to coordinated our efforts of fundraising, recruiting, community education, marketing, etc.

We are a 501c(3) not-for-profit agency serving Vanderburgh, Warrick, Spencer, Perry, Posey, Pike, Gibson and Knox counties in Indiana and Henderson county in Kentucky.

Our headquarters are in Evansville, Indiana. We have hundreds of "matches" between caring, responsible adults and at-risk children throughout the 9 counties, and more than program sites where we partner with local schools. This year we look to serve 550 area children.

We're growing to serve more kids.

Our intention is to grow to serve 600 children a year by 2013. It's not ambition that makes us want to do this - there are 29,758 kids aged 5 - 17 that would benefit from a mentoring relationship.

We currently have over 300 kids waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister.

Kids who have the potential for greatness, but no one to believe in them; kids who need someone to look up to because their neighborhoods are tearing them down; kids who just need a friend they can trust.

Kids who are one friend away from turning their lives around. Our future demands that we grow to serve this need.
